Funny thing. I've had this cat for about 7 months now. The kids named him Jasbeau. I swear that up until this past week, I had seriously questioned whether he sleeps or not. I never saw him sleep. I could wake up in the middle of the night and there he would be right outside my bedroom door, as if he had been up all night waiting.
Jasbeau, is a sort of special cat. He survived being struck in the head by a car, since then he has been what I like to call "special." (well to be honest, we didn't get him until after the accident, so he could have been special all along) Anyway, I couldn't help but wonder if this car accident had something to do with his, what I thought, inability to sleep. Come on, cats have a reputation for being couch potatoes, or where ever they drop their bodies "potatoes." Both of my cats, at this moment, are being couch potatoes.
I guess all that I needed was some time off of work to really pay attention to him, because lately it seems that this cat does nothing BUT sleep. With his favorite naptime space being my spot on the bed when I am absent from it. I didn't even know this cat could jump that high.
It seems that Jasbeau has finally joined the ranks among "normal" cats, at least when it comes to sleeping behaviors. I still have to question some of his other behaviors, like his need to walk along with you whenever you come down the hallway. He remains right under your feet, as if he is attached by a ball and chain. I swear if you stop, he stops, if you walk, he walks. Strange. Very strange!
Okay, he is still "special."
He sounds like a great cat. Both of our cats were like that in some ways. They really preferred being in the same rooms we were in, even if they were just sleeping.

Yeah Zataod, they are quite the characters. Jasbeau is sitting next to me bathing himself as I speak. Bathing himself, and boy does his breath stink!
